Jakarta, March 7, 2025 – PT BUMA International Group Tbk (BUMA International Group; IDX: DOID, formerly known as PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk) has officially announced its partnership with the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) Foundation to expand access to higher education for talented Indonesian students from underprivileged backgrounds. This partnership underscores BUMA International Group’s ongoing commitment to developing Indonesia’s human capital, with a strong focus on empowering youth.

The partnership was formalized during a modest ceremony held on March 4, 2025, marking a strategic step towards expanding educational access and promoting social empowerment. Through this collaboration, the Group will award twenty scholarships via KSE, specifically for alumni of the BUMA School program, which is managed by the Group’s social subsidiary, PT Bisa Ruang Nuswantara (BIRU), focusing primarily on education.

Iwan Fuad Salim, Director of BUMA International Group, stated, “We are honored to collaborate with KSE, the largest non-governmental scholarship provider in Indonesia. We believe that youth are a nation’s greatest asset. By investing in their education and development, we not only shape their mindset but also the future of our country. This initiative aligns with our mission to contribute to nation-building and enhance the well-being of our fellow Indonesians.”

As a leading institution connecting corporations and individuals with high-potential students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation plays a key role in facilitating donations and implementing structured non-academic development programs. Now in its 30th year, KSE has awarded scholarships to over 30,000 students across 35 universities throughout Indonesia.

Adrian Karim Januar, Executive Chair of KSE, expressed appreciation for the partnership: “Since its founding, KSE has been dedicated to providing need-based scholarships and widening access to higher education for underserved communities. We are delighted to collaborate with BUMA International Group, which shares our vision of nurturing and empowering Indonesia’s brightest talents. We hope this marks the beginning of a long-term partnership that creates lasting impact for education in Indonesia.”

Echoing Adrian’s remarks, Kanya Stira Sjahrir, Chief Executive Officer of BIRU, emphasized that this initiative is about more than just scholarships—it is about building a comprehensive ecosystem to support the development of Indonesia’s youth. “This partnership aligns with BIRU’s mission to enhance skills and create employment opportunities for the younger generation, contributing to our goal of reducing youth unemployment in Indonesia by 1% by 2035. We look forward to scaling this initiative to reach even more promising students in the future,” she added.

Scholarship recipients were selected through a rigorous process involving document verification and interviews to ensure that only the most qualified candidates were chosen. The recipients come from a diverse range of universities, including Politeknik Negeri Malang, Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung, Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Politeknik Energi dan Pertambangan Bandung, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), and Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani.

Arman Nurdin, a scholarship recipient and 2023 alumnus of BUMA School from Universitas Hasanuddin, shared his appreciation: “This scholarship is a valuable opportunity for me to continue advancing both academically and personally. Beyond financial support, it opens doors to participate in various social initiatives that broaden my perspective and enrich my experiences.”

In addition, BIRU and KSE will provide ongoing mentoring and deliver a series of workshops, seminars, and discussion forums to help scholars develop essential soft skills. These efforts aim to better prepare students for the professional world, enhance their competitiveness, and empower them to make meaningful contributions in their respective fields.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from BUMA International Group, BIRU, and the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation, and was also broadcast online for scholarship recipients to join virtually.
