BIRU x IBCWE : Training on “Addressing Gender Bias in the Modern Workplace”

Jakarta – As part of IBCWE support for Bisa Ruang Nuswantara (BIRU) BISA Ruang Vokasi (BRV) as a member company, they conducted a training on “Addressing Gender Bias in the Modern Workplace” attended by employees from various company departments on February 24, 2025. This training aimed to foster a fairer and more empathetic understanding of gender norms that lead to biases and stereotypes, hindering the development of both the company and its employees.
Facilitated by Syafirah Hardani, Deputy Executive Director for Programs at IBCWE, and Zelda Lupsita, Program Manager at IBCWE, the training began by discussing the definition of gender, gender norms and their impacts, and the concept of intersectionality. The training also included various interactive activities to help participants empathize with different gender-based injustices.
Following this training, participants are expected to implement more gender-sensitive workplace practices and policies. IBCWE and BIRU continue to collaborate to create an inclusive and safe workplace for all through various meaningful and positive impact initiatives.
